Why Buy From Khazargems?
We are a U.S. Based Company - No hidden fees, duties, or tariffs.
Low Shipping Cost - We ship USPS Insured Priority Mail for items under $5,000, and Insured Registered Mail (signature required) for items over $5,000 and under $25,000.
The Items for Sale are the Items Pictured - We do not use stock photos (unless clearly stated) as commonly used on other Sites.
The Colors on our listings are what our Camera Captures - We do not alter or enhance our photos to misrepresent the item's color, luster, or clarity.
The Color-Change pictured in Our Photos is Natural - Many Alexandrite Sites create the color-change by changing the hue of the gem digitally.
We try to educate the consumer on all aspects of Alexandrite and other precious gems and jewelry. An informed consumer is a satisfied customer.
None of the photos Khazargems displays in its listings are enhanced and, unless clearly stated, the item for sale is the item pictured. Also, the lighting we use is not enhanced lighting but simple daylight or fluorescent light for the green coloration of Alexandrite and a few highly diffused 60 watt incandescent lights for the purple/red color-change. All other precious stones are photographed using simple daylight or fluorescent light.
Please note that because the camera "sees" gems differently than the human eye due to the absorption and reflection of the light, photographs may display the gem differently than the human eye sees. When the light meets the gem, since the camera and gem are stationary (can not be rotated to see the sparkle), the light waves are ether absorbed into the gem where they are bounced back and forth dependent on the minerals in the gem, or reflected off the facets of the gem. The same phenomena occurs under microscopic examination of a gem: depending where you focus, the gem may appear to have different hues, tones, or saturation.
All the gems Khazargems obtains are tested by an independent gem lab before we accept them, then a percentage of those certified gems are retested by a second lab of our choosing after we receive them. Plus, Khazargems performs in-house testing to verify each stone's authenticity, color and color-change, size, carat weight, luster, and clarity. We have developed a relationship with our vendors over many years through family and visits to all parts of the globe.
The alexandrite you purchase from Khazargems are accurately listed and do display the described and pictured color change and coloration- please note that, as stated on all of our listings, color may be seen differently on different monitors. The light you will be viewing your stone with will not be the light used to take the photos.
